THE MISSION STATEMENT

With our wealth of experience and knowledge from not only our own professional life but the lives of the extraordinary professionals around us  it has compelled us to create a place where aspiring and professional visual communicators can come together to work and exchange ideas, inspire each other and support one another’s work through opportunity, by becoming a community connected by the visual medium. This place is the IVCC.

The members of IVCC will be dedicated to nurturing new talent and representing some of the world's most accomplished and innovative practitioners, offering expert guidance and inside perspectives. Students and professionals alike are free to come from anywhere around the world, all ages and backgrounds, making the discussions at IVCC rich and provocative.

We envision a place where young filmmakers and professional photojournalists , commercial DP’s and multimedia whiz kids can come together and showcase their work, learn more about their craft and perhaps try their hand at some new and innovative ways to be creative while encouraging each other to expand their knowledge . Providing support and affordable facilities all housed under one roof so that members can realize their vision. Through educational programs, screenings, exhibitions and large photographic projects the IVCC aims to create a community of visual communicators dedicated to using the visual medium as a tool for change in the world, preservation of history and  to come together to serve each other  and the community with this universal visual language whether it is through film, photography or multimedia.

Visual Communication is here to enrich and nurture  our lives and as a united front we bring these mediums together to preserve the art , history and ongoing education to future generations of visual communicators.

IVCC plans to host a variety of events daily all year long, including lecture series, panel discussions, artists' talks, film screenings, student exhibitions, open houses, benefits, member receptions, awards, and more.

Founders Seamus Conlan and Tara Farrell  have lived and breathed the visual medium in all it’s forms whether photography, film, video or multimedia if it is visual they must communicate it.  The visual medium transcends  language  and cultures and unites us all to be informed about the world, laugh at a funny story or have admiration for a beautiful scene that makes you want to connect with people and experience the world we live in.

After over 20 years in this industry Seamus and Tara’s  passion and  commitment to the visual image has never faltered. Whether  they were in Rwanda helping to reunite 21,000 children with their families armed with only a camera  or creating the largest traveling exhibition in the world as a tool for change and awareness or building the 4th largest photo agency in the world on the backbone of new up and coming photographers, giving them a chance and a direction to see their talents shine and earn them a living , they are all about inspiration, taking chances and making history.

With the changing face of  all visual communication whether  movies, commercials, documentaries, fashion photography or photojournalism we all must adapt and be open to supporting one another young and old in the continuation of education and global communication. Our purpose here is to unite a diverse group of people dedicated to, and passionate about,  an industry that has the power to give people hope, laughter, courage and strength.
